Duties:Experience the personal challenge of working for a world-class organization and leader in the industry. Savage Services is a major service provider for the rail industry. Due to continued growth we have position available in the Kansas City, MO area.

LOCOMOTIVE SERVICING & FUELING
• Respond to dispatches in a timely manner
• Service locomotives according to SQRS “Locomotive Servicing Procedures”
• Service locomotives according to SQRS “Locomotive Fueling Procedures”
• Inspect and replace worn locomotive brake shoes
• Check and if necessary, add lube oil, cooling water and crank case oil to locomotive
• Check and if necessary, add traction sand to locomotive sand hoppers
• Clean locomotive cab, remove trash and replenish crew supplies
• Load fuel and stock inventories in a safe and prescribed manner.

SAFETY
• Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
• Make a pre-trip inspection before operating any vehicle
• Complete a Vehicle Inspection Report (post-trip) noting any safety defects.
• Control, contain and report any spill immediately following the Spill Reporting procedures.
• Use Blue Flag Protection and follow all railroad safety rules.
• Operate vehicles safely, obeying all traffic laws, regulations, railroad rules and SQRS policies.
• Work safely and report any work-related injury immediately.

RECORDKEEPING
• Make legible, accurate and complete records of fueling and servicing activities.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date driver’s logs or 100 air mile radius timesheets.
• Complete Vehicle Inspection Report for each vehicle operated each shift.
• Enter work data into computer and prepare required reports.
• Fax records and reports to corporate office or railroad in a timely manner.
• Mail original records weekly to corporate office.

EQUIPMENT USE & CARE
• Keep fuel and service inventories at service capacities.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance on vehicles.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards.
• Keep equipment; especially cab interiors, clean and free of trash.
• Keep cell phones, pagers and radios fully charged and operational.
• Keep vehicle fuel tank levels at half full or more.

ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT
• Keep constant communication links with railroad and SQRS dispatch when scheduled to respond to fueling and servicing requests.
• Limit use of company resources, such as cell phones, to absolutely necessary company business.
• Follow chain of command; communicate concerns and questions to immediate supervisor.
• Keep your supervisor or corporate office informed of any shortage of supplies.
• Maintain professional and productive relationships with co-workers.
• Keep D.O.T qualifications current and carry these qualifications when on duty.
• Follow specific instructions and complete other tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications:Class A CDL
Tanker and HAZ MAT endorsements
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet minimum safety requiremnets and be free of serious violations such as DUI, etc.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Current D.O.T. Medical Certification
Minimum 2 years of verified commercial driving experience

JOB SKILLS:
Work varied hours including nights and weekends.

Lift 50 pounds.
Climb steps and ladders.
Keep accurate fuel inventories.
Communicates clearly with railroad personnel
