Duties: Major Objective:
Maintain the preventative maintenance program and perform minor repairs for all tractors, trailers, yellow equipment and material handling systems at Savage’s Coffeyville Operation.

Supporting Objective(s):
- This position will service the trucks and equipment 75% of the time: fuel, grease, and change oil
- The other 25% of the time is spend performing minor and major repairs: tires, breaks, batteries, lights, alternators
- Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory
- Help run trucks to Mack Dealership for Mack Warrantee repairs
- Light maintenance on in-plant conveyor

Qualifications: Skills and Abilities:
- Welding experience a plus, or willingness to take employer provided classes
- 2 to 3 years of Diesel Mechanic Experience: Dump trucks, Mack trucks, Cat Equipment, End-dump trailers
- Willingness to do preventative maintenance 75% of the time
- CDL a plus
- Have an invested interest in operational safety
- Be able to read, write and understand English
- Can follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Prepared to help with anything requiring attention, as directed by the Operation Manager
- Environmental awareness
- Flexible schedule or willing to be on call
- Able to lift 100lbs
- Familiar with record keeping as it pertains to maintenance
- Should have some supervisory skills
- Must be able to work without supervision

Team and People Issues:
Mechanic will have daily contact with fellow team members, their immediate supervisor and/or manager. Frequently, they will have contact with customers, members of the regional and/or executive management team and vendors. This team member should have an understanding of customer service and have strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Physical and Environmental Issues:
The Mechanic will work equally in a shop environment and an onsite outdoor environment; hence, exposed to the elements. They must be physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights. They must be able to climb, crawl, and position their body in such a way that they can perform their required duties. Should be able to frequently lift 100 lbs.
