Description:Savage Services Corporation is seeking a dedicated, hard working, career-minded individual for our liquid-bulk transload facility in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, able to work outdoors year round in all conditions, possess excellent mechanical skills, able to walk several miles per day, able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance, able to climb/stoop/crawl. Must be able to work on elevated surfaces. Must have exceptional aptitude to learn & abide by processes/procedures and conduct numerous transfers of hazardous materials each day.
Duties:Daily inspections of railcars, tractor-trailers, and equipment to ensure safe conditions and operation. Railcar/transfer preparation, including installing bolt-on/bolt-off fittings, making hose connections, taking product samples. Conduct numerous transfers of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid bulk chemicals from tank cars to tank trucks each day. Perform routine maintenance on equipment. The job requires the employee to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times, including chemical-resistant suits in the summertime. This job is labor-intensive, not equipment-intensive. The job requires an exceptionally sharp individual with great attention to detail and the ability to learn proper handling of various chemicals, yet also possesses excellent hands-on skills and a willingness to work in an outdoor industrial environment year round.
Qualifications:Must have a high school diploma and current drivers license. Must be able to lift, climb, walk long distances, stoop, crawl, work in all weather conditions. Must be able to read, write, comprehend English. Must have basic math skills. Must have strong mechanical skills (i.e. ability to "trouble shoot" and engineer solutions to problems), experience working with your hands, a solid work history and excellent references. Experience working outdoors and hands-on preferred. Prior experience handling bulk hazardous materials a plus. Must pass a preemployment physical and drug screen, and background check.

**This is outdoor hands-on work; this is not a forklift or heavy equipment operator position.
